Dandy
The boy and his sister knew that their dog, Dandy, was devoted to them. He was a large and powerful retriever, trained as a gun dog for hunting. Sometimes Dandy acted so smart he almost seemed human.
Boy and dog went everywhere together. The boy was an expert duck and bird hunter and bicycled for miles around the beautiful English countryside to pursue his favourite sport.
Up at dawn, the boy and his dog spent their days travelling over hills and through swamps and grasslands. Dandy swam through the water and ran across the marshlands and fields. He loved to retrieve game for his beloved master.
Arriving home, Dandy would run and play with the boy's sister or sometimes, just nap at her feet. He felt peaceful and contented as the familiar, loving hand stroked his muscular back.
As the years went by the boy and girl grew up and began spending less and less time with Dandy. But the dog was still devoted to them. Whenever the young man came home, the dog would accompany the family to the train station.
When the train came in, Dandy would run back and forth across the platform. As soon as he recognised his master, he would jump up on his hind legs and grab the hat off the young man's head. Then Dandy would trot home next to the car, hat in mouth, while the neighbours looked on with amusement .
One day, Dandy didn't come to the train station to meet the young man. When the master got home, he found that his devoted dog was very sick and couldn't walk.
Dandy was dying. For weeks during the winter, he had been retrieving sticks in the river. Then, night after night, he was mistakenly shut in the stable by the caretaker, soaking wet and without food.
The young man was heartbroken to see his ill dog. He held him close, whispering words of love and comfort to his pet. Dandy died that night in, his master s arms.
At the same time, the man's sister was in London fast asleep in her room. Suddenly she awoke as a large dog jumped onto her bed.
The young woman switched on a small lamp next to the bed and saw Dandy. "Dandy boy," she said with delight. "What are you doing here?" She reached out to hug him and he licked her cheek. As she started to close her arms around the big dog, she suddenly found that she was hugging nothing but empty space!
"Well of course he can't be here," she said to herself. "I must be dreaming."
The young woman looked at her clock to see what time it was. she tried to get back to sleep but was too restless and worried. Something must be wrong at home, she thought to herself.
The next morning the young woman contacted her brother. She discovered that Dandy had died during the night at the very same time he had appeared in her room!

In November 1999 our cat Marshall had begun vomiting so we took him to the vet. An hour later he had been dagnosed with major kidney failure and there was no hope of recovery. We put him to sleep.
About 2 weeks later we got 2 new cats Joker and Riddler (who are alive and happy today!). We doted on them hand and foot 24/7.A month later my cousin and i were outside on the deck when all of a sudden a cat ran out from behind a rose bush. This was stange because neither of us had seen a cat behind there before. What was more strange is that our new cats (who were quite terrotorial) didn't chase the new cat at all. Quite the contrary, they acted almost as if they knew the cat incredibly well. I dismissed all of the thoughts that were racing through my head of Marshall and thought nothing else of it. The next day however, the neighbours told us that they had seen Marshall hunting a bird. We had not told the neighbors that Marshall ad died as it was kind of personal. They had seen Mars hall a month after he had died!

One day i was taking my two dogs for a walk. There names are Tongo and Chester. Eventually it was time for them to come in the house, but only Tongo agreed to go inside, so i had to chase after my other dog and eventually i caught him. I was about 5 metres away from the side door when i saw Tongo run out from the house and into my back yard. I put Chester in the house and ran to the back yard calling Tongo to get inside the house. The thing is, he wasnt there and i really didnt understand what was going on because i just saw him run out from the house into the backyard. My stepdad heard me calling Tongo's name and he was like "why are you calling for Tongo hes right here". I couldnt believe it because i just saw tongo run out from the house into the backyard. Until this day i still wonder what that was that ran into my backyard and made me follow it.

In January of 2005 I was fixing breakfast and saw my big yellow cat -- who had died in 1996 -- lying on the rug in the breakfast nook, looking at me. He was a bit transparent. After a few se
conds he disappeared. That week my cat Beanie died suddenly of congestive heart failure. I wondered of my yellow cat was trying to warn me or getting ready to welcome Beanie into the next world.
Then, in April, I was in a modern London hotel room, packing to come home. I saw a black and white short-haired cat which I did not recognize coming out of the bathroom and looking at me. I wondered how on earth a cat could get into my hotel room on the fifth floor, but then I noticed that he, too, was transparent somehow. Then he vanished. I ran into the bathroom looking for him but of course he wasn't there. I didn't tell anybody about this apparition, it seemed too strange.
Three weeks after that event, my sister came to visit me at my home in Virginia. She was looking into the diningroom and suddenly cried that she could see a black and white short-haired cat lying on the rug and he was transparent. I had never told her about my vision in the London hotel room.
Who is the black and white cat? Did he used to live on the hotel site in London and got on the plane with me and came back to my house in Virginia? Does he know how much I love cats (I have four -- live ones -- at the moment.) Often during the day I see shadows scurrying along the floor out of the corner of my eye. They aren't my real cats, I don't know what they are.
But it is nice to know that animals live on after death and since I have never seen a human ghost, it seems to prove to me that there is life after death for us all. We all hope there is, but how do we really know? Now I know. The first thing I want to see after I die is my mother holding a cat of mine, with all the others at her feet meowing their welcome.
