Quote:
Grandmother Anne Lambert was stunned when she captured what looks like the ghost of Henry VIII on her mobile phone while staying at a Tudor manor house.

The 54-year-old was spending the night at Samlesbury Hall, when she heard some ghostly noises.

The nail technician, from Clayton Brook, Lancs, was alone in a dark room when she sensed something and quickly pulled out her mobile phone and started taking photographs.

But it was only when she got home the following day and looked at the images that Anne realised she may have captured a ghostly figure resembling the Tudor monarch on camera.

Recalling the late night tour of the 14th century manor house, near Preston, Anne said: "I was upstairs near the Priest Room.

"There were two people in the room, then they left, and all the hairs on the back of my neck started to stand on end.

"I thought, there's something there. I was taking different photos around the room. It was pitch darkness. I was on my own. I thought, if there's something there it will come up on the film.

"I didn't find out until the day after. I said to my son, 'that's a ghost on there isn't it?' and he said, 'it looks like it'.

"Then I said, hey, it looks like Henry VIII."

It's the first time Ann has captured something like this on camera, although she does feel presences around her.

She said: "It scared me a little bit, when you think you were so close to something like that."

Ann joked that she was a little worried - with her name being Anne - like two of Henry VIII's wives.

She said: "I'm thinking, Anne Boleyn. I might be reincarnated! I'm glad I didn't stop around, he might have chopped my head off!"

Lindsay Murray, functions and events manager at Samlesbury Hall, was excited to hear they may have a new ghost at the hall.

When told of the photograph, she said: "We have never had any photos of Henry VIII before. It's something new and exciting and fantastic if there's a good picture of him."

Mmmm..there is someone there, looks like a costumed man to me, playing with the pic I can get some of the grain out but not enough to tell more. She said " It was pitch darkness", well I can see the 2 windows top right with trees/light etc, so it wasnt really was it ? Do ghosts sweat ? he has a shiny forehead.

NO, I'll go with reflection, cell phone pics are just too unreliable.

Ah ha.. that works for me.. if you imagine a person taking their own pic in a mirror on a cell phone, it accounts for the grey distortions and the windows at the back would light up some of him then reflected (works for the sweat too) :D

Cell phones are responsible for most of the pics out there with weird things not ghostly in them..I wonder why, is it the lens or the pixels or the uploading.

Might have debunked it ? lets see Asylums thoughts, she is sharp as a tack on these things.

Good to look at :)

I like reflection too - explains the windows while she insists there werent any - because perhaps they are behind her, even showing through a doorway from another room?

It certainly would explain the 'flash' of bright light too.

Someone commenting on the story at the source said they thought it was the lady who took the picture herself, this is probably what they meant too.

She said

"I thought, if there's something there it will come up on the film. "

Since when do cell phones have films??

And she also said she was in complete darkness, which doesn't explain the light outside - in the trees.[/i]

"Films" I think video would be the word.

Complete darkness in the room? Dont no.

With my cell phone i can go into complete darkness and still video things. phone has a very bright light on it.

I will take a photo with mine and post it in a new thread.
