Back when I was very young, my dad would tell me about his encounter with a ghost at my grandparents house, he got up to go to the bathroom, early in the morning, and Barney (the germen shepherd) was barking at my mum. .. Rather, what my dad though was my mum, to his shock she vanished. (I think if I had attempted to kiss a ghost thinking it was my wife, I would have messed up my underpants)

Well, some years later around the time I lost my dad, (i'd have been 9) I was sleeping at my grandparents house, as was my cousin, unfortunately not much sleeping was going on, due to being separated from my loud snoring grandpa by a very thin wall, so we joked around and what not, then there was a lady in the room, she was almost shining, it was a very dark room and she stood out so much. We knew it wasn't normal, but we had no idea what was going on, she left as quickly as she came we told grandpa the next day, and it turned out to be Anne the neighborhood ghost, well really just the one house. He has no idea why she haunts the house (it was one of those houses moved on a truck) he says she was never there before they moved the house, or rather, he never saw her before. I'm not sure why Grandpa calls her Anne either.

I'v never been able to find anything about a ghost form Esk, QLD . I have thought about Anne though, was it her responsibility to watch the children in my family and she still does to this day, or maybe she was a mother, i'v got no clue, I suppose I will never know.

Fun fact, my great great, great? (I forget how many greats ><) anyway, grandpa is apparently a headless horsemen type ghost. . . Witch is interesting, considering he never lost his head, it was published in a book, a few years ago though. He haunts Hammond Downs in Queensland, supposedly a few other Hammond's haunt the place too, but only one is headless, hey, maybe the great great etc grandpa isn't the headless one, and that is some one else. Certainly something I wan't to learn more about though ;)

Wow - thats so cool having a well known family ghost. Ive never actually heard of anyone having that claim to fame so to speak. Although I guess they must be out there since there are great numbers of ghosts who are assigned names of who they were thought to be when alive.

Hah, yeah, his name was Ned Hammond, I type it into Google and get a Law and Order episode though.

I think the book was Ghosts of Queensland, something along that line. I still have it somewhere, dunno if it'll be copy right infringement to copy that part out though :P

Will post updates and stuff in this thread though (if I can ever find anything ><)

Well, I FINALLY found some thing. .

I won't copy any quotes, I'm kinda worried about that copy right law or what ever it was, and don't want a ban.

ctrl + f Hammond, and it should take you to it. . Kinda bought a tear to my eye to read actually, it's stuff I have not heard before.

Yeah it is, I just went through the stuff I skipped, it is quite good, didn't realise how much there was though, may have to come back to it tomorrow when my eyes can handle it ;)
