Forgetmori.com say they have come up with evidence that the world famous Wem Town Hall Ghost Girl Picture, long thought to be one of the more recent best evidence in film that ghosts exist is in fact a fake.

There has always been debate over the picture,as there is with all ghost pictures that attract a lot of attention. Non-believers tended to pass the image of the young girl with ringlets on the balcony off as an excellent case of pareidolia - if no other explanation came to mind. Initial investigations into the photo had found no evidence of tampering with the picture.

Apparently further investigation into the negatives of the picture was made though. The National Museum of Photography, Film and Television apparently made some startling factors that cast shadow on the Wem Girl being a genuine spector.

As you can see in the picture below, there are horizontal lines that seem to be on the face of the girl only - not on anything else, the smoke, flames or building itself. To center investigators this implies that although well done, the girl was imposed into the picture. She is not part of the original shot. In fact, they say they are 'scan lines' as one might get from a tv - and the face may have in fact been taken from a telelvision screen.

The owner and taker of the picture of course denies being part of any formulated hoaxing.

There is YouTube footage linked at the source that shows the process the picture investigators went through.

Oh yeah, there are lines. Excellent spotting by the National Museum(etc) people.

Soooo anyways :P - whats the take on the pic? Lines showing up more because they are over darker parts of colouring or because it probably is faked?

Hard to say (I don't know enough about these sorts of things). If this picture is a scan of the original that could explain the lines, but then they'd be in other places of the pik. Without being able to see a clear close up of the entire photo I'll have to take their word for it that the lines are just on the girls face, in which case I'd go with fake.

PS, oh and thanks for the welcome back. Life got a bit hectic for a while there.
