I know that The Nurses hostel in Kingseat has been transformed into Spookers haunted attractions, but I did some research on the main part, where the ward is, and saw that 72 people had died there. With such a history, I wonder if it is haunted. I wouldn't mind renting one of the main parts for a while with some friends and seeing if I can catch anything.
I also wouldn't mind checking out the morgue hidden out the back down in the bush.

Before spookers started my old boss used to run haunted tours through there, the main parts of the tours was the morgue and the chapel. They set up pranks etc to make the whole thing more spooky, a total put on though.
They set up cameras to montior peoples reactions and started seeing some weird stuff on the flms.
The main thing was figures following the tour groups around, figures in the sense that the people on the tour were easliy recognised but these figures looked like a person but were dark and had no distinguishing features.
The place just kept getting weirder and strange things were happening in the chapel which was the start and finish point, one of the people on a tour had left a jumper in the chapel at the beginning of the tour and on return found it neatly folded in the middle of the room, when it had been left draped on a chair.
Spookers started up and brought and end to all other tours.

Spookers brought an end to quite a few things at Kingseat. I think you'll find that anything that may have been there will now have gone. The disturbances to the electro-magnetic field will literally have destroyed their surroundings. Nobody likes noisey neighbours.

Original readings at Kingseat were anywhere from 0.4 to 18 miligauss and now its a steady 1.5 everywhere...spookers spooked the spooks!

Right that kind of explains it, I had a look around there mid last year and felt nothing, when usually I am quite sensitive.

The TVNZ programme 'Ghost hunt' obtained some interesting material from Kingseat but again that was before 'Spookers' moved in. I think it would be interesting to speak to Spookers and see if any staff member has had any unusual experiences there.....

That sort of thing happened in Napier. The old prision on the Napier hill was really haunted - from th experiences of my friends and I, and others and rumours - there were tours done monthly or so. But then someone bought the old place and turned into a backpackers - since then I've heard the sitings have really gone down.

So, you know its gotta be bad management if the ghosts of executed murderers and rapists from over 100 years ago leave!

Random, the difference between Spookers and the Napier Prison Backpackers is like chalk snd cheese! I found Spookers to be ridiculously commercial and the ghostly effects were laughable. The amount of noise and energy levels inside and around the building left me feeling slightly sick. Alot of the Napier prison is still exactly as it was when it was a prison. Although some cells are used by backpackers they also have accommodation available in other areas as well ie the chapel and staff quarters. Things may have changed since I was there but there was no mood music, actors in costumes, and mock horror scenes (as you get at Spookers). I actually got a clear evp at the prison which I posted on another site and have no idea of where it is now. (probably in the bowels of a long dead computer - it was about four years ago).

I also got a couple of EVPS at Spookers during a lull when I was attending a friends fourtieth birthday party. I recorded the whole debauch affair on handycam and happened to be also recording our conversations on my cell phone. During a quiet moment I heard someone say "Too many people in here" and when I checked against the footage from the night I found the precise moment that was said was beside the old bridge across from Kingseat to the surrounding bush (where patients could walk the grounds) and I was the only person for about 50metres....cool eh!

The poor souls that suffered there I feel so sorry for them. May they rest in peace and may their suffering and torment be remembered respectfully and not be used for entertainment purposes. May the people who died in this hospital be respected.

Hi Briah

Who said anything about entertainment purposes??
Have you ever seen a series of paranormal state that is the kind of paranormal research group i would like to be in. In any case i would not go into a investigation and start disrespecting any entity that happens to make itself known to me or not. I do not make a habit of disrespecting the dead under any circumstances. So I think your comment is a little uncalled for because that is not the i meant my first comment to come across.
