I just joined the website, it's not my first time visiting though.. When I was younger (years ago!) I used to come to the website and read all the stories and wanting to go on ghost hunts but I was too young.

I turned 18 recently and I'm pretty certain I've had some paranormal experiences but only when I was younger, nothing out of the ordinary has happened to me that I can think of now that I'm older. But then again, I do have a bad memory. :P

I've always been intrigued and interested in paranormal things. I love reading about cryptids and love mythology and want to travel around the world when I am able to. :D

Welcome to the GOHNZ-forum, jogii. Glad you have made your way to us. Mythology is one thing I really like as well and I have lately written a lot of articles on Phoenix, Nyx, King Arthur and the Maui Cycle.

I am sure that you soon will be able to go where your heart will carry you :-)

^ LOL you guys :P

Okay here's a story I have, sorry it took so long for me to post a story here. My internet is really bad and slow so I don't come on here often enough plus it's hard for me to put my thoughts into words.. So I apologize in advance if it's hard for you guys to follow!

In 2004 I started high school and about 2 months into the new school year my mother passed away from a long battle with Leukemia. I don't want to get too detailed with it, but she got really sick in the late 90s then got better and for a couple of years things were great then suddenly in March or April she got really sick and had to stay in the hospital and unexpectedly passed away one week after Mother's Day. :( It had really hard for the whole family and myself, being 12 at the time and I was really close with her. The adults in the family were really worried about me since she was the only adult I was close to that much, and they said she would always tell them she would worry about me when they visited her in the hospital.

A year later in 2005, I came home from school and went into my bedroom. I have a cell phone and nobody ever rings it unless it's my dad wondering where I am if I'm home late from school and stuff like that.. But then I heard it ring. I thought it was odd so I flipped it open and it displayed the number calling and it wasn't a number from New Zealand. I couldn't recognise it at all, it was just really long and seemed like a random string of numbers..

I answered anyway and was definitely sure it would be a wrong number. I heard a LOT of static coming from the other end and it was really hard to hear the person on the other end. I definitely remember a lot of static noisee. Then I heard the voice more clearly, and it was a woman's voice, and I know this may seem crazy but it sounded like my mother's voice. The weird thing was that the person wasn't speaking in English or Chinese (I'm Chinese) but in a type of language I can't identify. Usually I can tell what country a language is from you know? After hearing the voice I just felt really weird like 'could it really be her??' and I began asking questions like "Mum is that you?" and the person on the other end just kept talking in a weird language. I remember being frustrated that I couldn't understand and couldn't hear properly through the loud noise. Then they hung up after a minute or so.

I remember looking back down on my phone as it showed me the number that called me, and I contemplated calling it but wasn't so sure. I really regret not writing down that number since that phone doesn't turn on anymore and after that phone call, the number disappeared off my phone so I couldn't retrieve it.

What do you guys think? Could it have been her to check up on me? Or was it just a foreign person with really bad reception? :/

Hi Jogii and welcome to NZG.

I'm sure your mum is around you and visits regularly but the logical side of me thinks that the call you received was most probably a wrong number from a foreign country. I have heard stories of spirits sending messages by phone or text but your experience doesn't sound right. After all, your Mum would only have to say a word or two in ANY language to let you know it was her.

I'm sorry for your loss. It must have been very hard at that age.
