Hi everyone, thought id share this story while i was checking out the site, definately gonna keep my eye on here, looks awesome.

Anyhow, those old WW2 tunnels up at North Head - Devonport, is often a place a few of us go just to chill after hours, (no alcohol/drugs etc) just quite literally, go to hang out and walk around and often try spook each other in the darkness of the tunnels, one night however, something happened we really cant explain, especially being that there really is anything up there usually related to paranormal activitiy in the sense of history, eg, death, pain, suffering etc etc. And only once have we been there to find others hanging about, of the witchcraft type doing their thing.

At the summits big gun, we were being boys and sitting on the gun with the barrel between our legs laughing at each other, when 3 out of the 5 of us there, freaked out and began to run away in a real panic. Me and 1 other, turned to see what the drama was about, witnessing only a small dog coming down the hill towards us. As quickly ran to grab the others and have a good teasing session about them all freaking out over a dog, however, after grabbing them and turning them round to see that it was nothing but a lonely canine, did the 5 of us see now in place of the dog, a small child like figure heading down towards us, of course we all crapped ourselves and bolted down the bank and hid behind a small wall surrounding the gun. And as quick as whatever it was came, it disappeared. After mustering up the courage we went to search around the place but, to no avail.

Perhaps someone walking through the place as a shortcut, spose seeing 5 guys hanging around an empty reserve would make anyone alone walk the other war, though judging by height ''it'' wouldnt make it over the gates. Or are there commonly witch-types up there doing whatever it is they do?

Really im on the fence with this one, jsut thought id share it and see what you all thought, maybe someone else has seen something up there, though its not generally a ''haunted'' spot.

Would it be fair to say that non humans probably like a wander in the woods just as much as their human equivalents? lol

Maybe it was a circus dog. First you saw it running like a normal dog, then wen you next looked it was running on it's hind legs making it look like a little person. Could happen. But no, I haven't heard of anything paranormal up there, a lot of people frequent that spot with their kids & dogs & camera's, many of them 'normal', non-witch types.

Im more inclined to go with real dog, trick of the light and the way the dog moved making you think it resembled a child.

The old gun emplacements were places of great emotion and stress in their day, and theres nothing to say they are or arent human but I think in the case of your experience its too hard to say the event was or wasnt related to the paranormal. But thanks for sharing, would be interesting to hear if you ever have any other strange feelings or experiences if you go back into the area.
