New Zealand Ghosts & Other Haunts

Hi everyone, a new member here based in Wellington, I would like to share something with you all, not sure if this is purely related to seeing a ghost as such, but sure freaked me out!..... I think I may be able to have contact with the spirit world or so to speak. The following coincidences seem just to uncanny to be my imagination.. I try and keep it short... Here goes...

The other night I was listening to music, kind of tuned out and relaxing like I always do in the evenings, suddenly this person popped into my head, said his name was Dave he lived in Cuba St in Wellington and died in 1977.

He then showed me a car, a dark metallic green 1974 Ford Falcon with a 351 V8 in it, real petrol heads car, BTW I'm also a petrol head and love old cars myself.... anyway he seemed to like this car or had some connection with it, and I saw the first two letters and two numbers of the registration plate.
I got the feeling this guy was a bit rough around the edges, in his mid to late 30's early 40's sort of bloke who would have been into the alcohol/drug scene, I got a sense he died because of this. I kept seeing that car again and again that night.
Ok so the next day I went onto Car Jam and started punching in number plates starting with the letters and numbers I saw and sure enough I eventually came across the exact model with a 351 V8 in it, the car was deregistered back in 2000. Kind of freaky that it matched with what I had seen in my head!

He also kept holding up a newspaper and pointing at it saying to look.
That weekend I went to Library and started looking through newspaper archives from 1977 to try and find some reference to him as, he also gave me a couple of dates and months/numbers to search which I did came up with nothing, he also gave me a last name of sorts, so I searched the death records for 1977 and low and behold I found a death registration for someone in Wellington with that exact name. Once again was this my imagination?

What is also weird is that I can see this guys face and clear as day in my head, seemed like a real laid back type of guy, got into a bit of trouble but harmless none the less. I am still in the process of doing some further newspaper searching as there must be a link somewhere.

So theres my story, don't know if I'm nuts or just imagined all this, I'm just waiting for him to appear at the end of the bed one night holding a beer bottle in his hand!

Hi Glen! Sounds like you have a gift. A pretty strong one at that! What I like about your story is that you are trying to find out if the info is true by looking it up, which validates the information you'v been getting. I think that's really important because if you were just making a story up, there's no way to prove or disprove it. You probably know your not nuts and if you imagined it, how come all the info about this guy is real?

PS Love the old muscle cars too! Do you watch Supernatural? They got a mean car & sound track! Think ACDC opened the episode last week

Hi Barremel, thanks for the reply I did question the validity of my findings at first, but then I had to stop and ask myself how I could have conjured a car registration number out of thin air with so many different letter/number combinations and then thought of a particular make and model not to mention being a bit special with the 351 V8 and just 'happened' to find a matching record of it all?.... I don't think so.

This is not the first time this is happened either, I have had others come through, very briefly, but nothing as strong as this one.

No I haven;t watched Supernatural, keep meaning to watch an episode, but just keep missing it! I mainly like English cars, but do have a soft spot for the some of the old Aussie and American cars too. Wouldn't mind a '58 Plymouth Fury/Savoy (Christine)

Thats a great story. Thanks for sharing it with us. I have similar happen to me although I usually need to be holding an item of jewellery which has some tie to the spirit. Like you they just pop into my head and show me pictures to let me know their story. I think that it may have happened to you because your were so relaxed and possibly in almost meditative state. You must have a real gift.

Its interesting that you can still clearly see the man. I think you will find that he is still with you. When you are relaxed just ask him if he is still there and if he is, ask why. He may just like to be around you and enjoy being able to communicate.

Totally agree with what Kiwi said. I wonder if relaxation in another place or at a different time might open other doors for you.

I would love to hear also if you come up with any results from your researching.

Hi everyone and thanks for the comments/feedback I guess this gift is something I could work at and improve on, but with a 3 month old baby and life/work in general being very busy at the moment, I haven't really had time to concentrate on it. I find I can switch it on better when I'm chilled out or relaxing. I haven't done any further investigations as of yet, but will do at some stage. The other night I opened the portal up again and had a couple of people come through, one was a very troubled soul who just wanted to be left alone, and the other was a bloke called John who died of a heart attack in his 40's, lived in Auckland, this happen in the mid 1980's I felt.... Spooky stuff!
My wife is also very spiritual and she sees apparitions and has a far stronger sixth sense than me, all very interesting.
