Well! I've gotten permission again to go ahead with a new ghost hunt at my workplace... Henderson Police Station.

To be brief: There's been sightings of a black mass seen darting across the verandah, an apparition seen in the Cafeteria/Bar area and footsteps have been heard in an empty room.
The bar, cafeteria and verandah are both connected to each other. So only that part will be investigated. So a small group is all that is needed.
There will be access also to a microwave oven for hot meals, hot water for hot drinks, and a large flat screen TV hanging on the wall. Loos are just outside the cafeteria door. Bring food and makings of drinks, as I wouldn't touch the tea and the coffee at the station... it's terrible. :P

So I need applicants.

I will try to find a weekend to use the place, when no one has booked it. Would a 6.00pm start and a 01.00am finish do, or do you want it to start/ finish earlier or later. Let me know. As the main activity seems to be starting around 10pm.

As soon as I have enough people, I will need to do a check on everyone, so I will ask for names and birthdates via Private Message. This is necessary as it is a secure and restricted area.

Now I need to figure out a date on a Saturday or a Sunday. Any suggestions?

Names so far:

Supernerd (the one and only me. Yay!)
Kiwilady

Updated names for our list:

Supernerd
Kiwilady
nicole & boyfriend
Pooke

I'm still hunting for a date, but I will let you know. I am open for suggestions... Hmmmm? I won't bite... much!

Right! Update time.

I'm looking at 11 to 12 April. If that is too early, then 2 to 3 of May.

How does that sound. Take your pick. :D

What time range would be best y'think? 8.30pm to 1am or what? The haunting used to start around 10pm approx. So I think a wee bit later?

Oh... I forgot to mention. Prepare for the odd inquisitive cop or non sworn staff member coming for coffee, tea, skive meal.

So a time of say... Ummm... 8.30pm or 9pm to avoid the worse of the interruptions. Feedback please... *whimper*

Either date is fine with me too. I agree with the 8.30 or 9.00 start and a 1pm finish. Just don't leave it too long or else they might change their minds again!!!!

Yipee!!!!!! I can't wait!!!!

Are all the others happy with the dates? If so, I'll try for the 11-12 April.
Arrive 8.30pm 11 April, and stay till 1.00am 12 April.

How does that sound?

That reminds me... better get some more batteries.

Franklee, are you interested in joining in? Could do with an experienced hunter as I've only lived in a haunted house, not hunting 'em. :D

Camera - Yes! I'll be bringing mine and a spare.
Card game - No need. I've got 2 packs of cards in my desk at work. It can get slow sometimes on late shift.
Brownies - up to you. There's plates and cups there.

I've got to bring in food that we all can eat... even me! I'm on a low-carb, low fibre diet, so you could call me verrrry fussy. I might bring in something tasty. Secwet! ;)

Yep! You can come too. I was hoping you would ask. :D

Names Update:

Supernerd
Kiwilady
nicole & Boyfriend
Pooke
franklee

I think we'll be needing a couple of thermometers and a EMF meter. I've got a digicam, but am awaiting a IR flash unit which I've got on order from Sony. I don't know about recorders, that I leave to franklee to decide if we need them. Ok?

I think that its a good idea in this situation to have something recording as there may be an opportunity to record actual apparition or manifestation of some description. It sounds like your colleagues are excellent witnesses (cops!) so I would be keen to get my swann dvr unit set up so we can catch it!

I will also provide some coffee and tea on the nite! Thanks Nerd! I appreciate the opportunity!

franklee, you don't need your thermos as hot water is provided. And if we're lucky, we'll have a full tub of sugar already out. It's the milk that's got me worried as non-staff aren't allowed to use it. :P

Right! I've had a good thunk and how does everyone feel if I brought in some Turkey and mustard sandwiches? (Mustard is Mild American)
There is a tin of Spam, but even I'm not sadistic enough to give you all that.

Tomorrow, I'll find out if the bar area is booked or not on 11 April. If not, then it's all ours. :D

Right! Here is the much promised update!

It's all... GO! GO! GO!

Yep! We've got the bar/verandah/cafe area booked. A cop in the prosecutions office next door has arranged that no one can book the hall that night. He can do that as he's the one in charge of the bar area.

So it's confirmed.

8.30pm till 01.00am - 11 April to the wee hours of 12 April.

So please PM me your names and birthdates so that I can do a security check. I've already got nicole's PM on that.

I'll try and get a little tub of milk for that night... ;)

Update again:

Kiwilady and pooke, I need your names and date of birth for security checks.

Don't worry, I'll not be adding any information to the police computer. So your privacy will remain intact and stay between you and me, as I'll be doing the checks myself.

Now the rest of the news:

I now know the name of the drunk that died in the cells. This man was the only death we had in the station. It's Barney Phillips.
I wonder what we'll get on the night. Will it be him... or the station cat?

Yipeee! I can't wait.

I'll bring another thermometre (digital but not infra red), a digital recorder, a camera, and a vidcam. Don't forget to bring spare batteries everyone!

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone :D I'll think of something yummy to bring to eat later.

*looks at the amount franklee is bringing*
I think you forgot the kitchen sink!!!

Me? I'll be bringing my two digital cameras and extra batteries/memory cards and some food. I may bring in my handycam if I get the hang of the IR light unit on it.
As you can see, I don't have much equipment.

*thinks*
Who's bringing in the ESP?
