Hi all again, thought someone may be interested in this...some of it was a bit hairy, especially the stuff with the Adze..hmmmmm damn creepy
This happened, many years ago..we had bought an derilect old miners cottage in Waihi, I just love old houses, it looked like it had been sitting there forever, grass up to the windows..so that became our home for us for 30yrs...but one day an odd thing happend, someone from Auckland gave me an old adze head they had found, it didn't appeal to me lol looked like a piece of old rock to me so I put it away, then a multitude of bad things started to happen, my brother living in another town almost sliced his neck open with a chainsaw, one bad instance among quite a few , one disaster after another, it seemed to attack everyone, and one night just as I was going to sleep, a horrible black misty cloud with talons and horrible things attacked me, I yelled out in my mind to Jesus, and it cut off immediately. I then sensed something in the house was attracting this bad energy and in desperation I called in Tohunga from Matakana Is., he picked out the adze head and three spirits..he said the evil was pre Maori and at the back of our place there had been an old river bed, here in ancient times a native woman and her 2 daughters had been slaughtered by warriors, she had cursed them, and the adze head somehow had activated that energy..ooer....He told me my energy was the strongest in the house and that she could not get to me, he told us to leave out a special offering for her on our best china and that particular night would be a bit rough, hmmmm being a bit of a sceptic myself I thought thats weird, but I did what he said, then thought..drat it no! shes had her time and shes trespassing on my time, so I salted the whole house and area...it was the quietest of nights..amazingly enough after that, the trees grew, the garden bloomed..and all was happy in the household..... down the road from me, an old lady who was a dear friend of mine, said she 'saw' warriors of ancient times coming over the hill, they were dressed somewhat like Arabs and their head gear was fastened to one side with a three clawed emblem clasp..hmmm interesting
Another happening in this Waihi cottage went thus....went bed per usual, during the night I sleep on my side with my hand over my neck/shoulder area, this night I was half waken by a warm hand holding mine, quite pleasant and gentle, silly husband I thought turning over to look at him..ooer he was fast asleep in his bed and the room was quite empty..lol even though it wasn't scarey I slept with my hand under the bedclothes for a while after that episode!
another episode..I was coming down hall to an open front door, and as I took a step forward it was as though I had crossed into another dimension,as I looked out the front door at all the greenery,I was caught into and out of myself and was one with that luminous shimmery landscape, and I was somehow in it and part of it, hard to describe, everything was the same but different..only lasted seconds it seems but was a timeless moment.....hmmmm?
..

Thank-you for those stories I enjoyed them. You don't happen to have any photographs of the old place, it would be interesting to look at it.

I will see if I have any of the older photos of the property, an odd thing about the ..'creek/river' , down the back of the section when one dug down it was sandy ..hmmm makes one think
Re the Tohunga Charlie, when I first met him I would have sworn on a bible his eyes were blue.....but when I met him again of course his eyes were brown....I can only guess that perhaps the first time I was picking up his spiritual energy ?
regarding this area of Waihi, around my place 3/4 acre, family members said they saw lights, one girlfriend was always annoyed by 'something' pulling her hair at night, at my old lady friends place one of my Maori girlfriends was more spooked.. there must be some kind of residue still lingering for sensitive folk to pick up....never bothered me...

Hi Mangu Kahu, oh yes the place was truly blessed, I have so many blessed objects in my homes, it was a confirmation of the power of curses, that the ancient curse was revived with such ferocity, with out the saving Grace of Holy objects, the Tohunga and help from those beyond I have no doubt death would have occurred......the woman spirit wanted death to revenge the savage murder of her and that of her 2 daughters...talking to one of my sons last week about this old house we used to live in , he told me a story, I nearly fell off my seat..he as a youth used to sleep in a caravan outside the house and he told me that something tried to get at him at night in his sleep, and he could 'see long talons ripping through the caravan wall and a 'black cloud" wow, he had never mentioned this as a child.....very similiar to my experience.......I am always aware of the atmosphere of houses, and this particular house just seemed to be caught in time, it would be interesting to know how the Adze activated the ancient curse? It was very very real and very very strong and evil.....

Here's another little tale of the old miners cottage in Waihi......this cottage was set back off the road somewhat and it was a small walk up an old concrete path lined with old sweet smelling pinks ( flowers) to the mailbox....one morning I walked up to the mailbox, got the mail and walked back, on going inside my late husband said where is the lady with you? I said what lady I am by myself... he had been watching me out the lounge window which as folk who know old houses, the windows are large tall double sashed, giving a very clear view. But he said where's the woman in a long gown, all dressed in blue? she was walking in front of you right down the path........hmmmmmnow thats an odd one? I think she had glimpsed by several others, not by me, and it became a standing joke...'The Lady in Blue"

Just a post script to the Adze head story..my dear old friend down the road from me, as I have stated " saw' these ancient warriors coming over the hill at the back of her place  ....the impression was so vivid and strong that she had painted a picture of one of them, the fastening of the head gear was foremost in her mind.....when she showed me her painting, it was of a brownish skinned person with a material head wrap caught to one side with a three taloned fastening, like a claw...this was the strongest impression the fastening to one side and the clasp/ fastening/the person looked Arab......most interesting..
if anyone knows Waihi, This is old Bulltown/Grey St., area backing onto x Martha Hill.....also at this friends place ( shes now deceased) a Maori girlfriend of mine would not enter my friends house, she said things touched her...hmmmm nothing bothered me there..... :)

Another odd thing amongst all the odd things that were going on in the Waihi cottage/property was that sometime after midnight in this old 100yr plus the atmosphere used to get very hot, I found this very unusual as it was a cold draughty house, anyone that knows the old homesteads with the old scrim and ancient faded wall paper that breath with the wind will know what I mean, that was unusual as Waihi is a cold wet place...
Then one night I was woken in these odd hot hours to the sound of a tiny faint voice that sounded a million miles away, calling for help, not only odd but damn errie, it appeared to be coming from the direction of my xhusband in the next bed, but didn't sound like him...that was most weird, the voice sounded faint & disembodied and as I said, seemed to be a long long long way away like in another dimension hmmmm?,

The dad's side of my family is from Waihi and we still have strong ties there. My great uncle used to live in an old miners cottage and it was horrid. I hated going there, his wife, a Maori from a Paeroa Iwi eventually talked him into moving as she too could sense the things that dealt there.

Here I will add that the Tohungas name was 'Charlie" , we had the gathering in this Waihi cottage, myself, some family, Mother, and the old lady Mac, I had no idea what had attracted the bad energy but was certain it was something in the house. I had put several objects seperate and under cloth so they could not be seen, one old Egyptian figure supposed to be out of a Tomb and some other old artifacts. After talkng to us for a while Charlie pointed to one of the covered objects and said ' that is what is attracting the bad energy' he showed us his arm which was all covered in goose bumps..weird...I lifted the cloth and there it was, a non descript looking piece of worked rock...the very old Adze head.....this is what had activated the curse...
Talking afterwards to Charlie he told us in his travels he often saw 'spirits' that annoyed and made peoples life a misery, but he said he could not go knocking on doors and tell the occupants of these particular homes that their troubles were compounded by unseen troublemakers....this is where being aware of energies of certain houses and areas can be very helpful when choosing a home, and getting a home 'blessed' ' is a jolly good idea.

Hi alienzone88!

a friend from waihi shared with me last year that waihi is home to some witch craft activty, she has lived their all her life, and says that some of the people she knew from primary school are really into it, shes in her late thirties, she even said when your in waihi you can feel something in the atmosphere of that town, shes not part of any occult going on in waihi, she said her and her husband have cut them selves off from some of their old school friends, and have been looking for a church to attend and yeap out of waihi!

trish.

Yes I would agree, some very odd energies about the Waihi area, I lived there for 35 yrs, really loved the mining history, but I must confess the place bought me a lot of grief and heartache.......many unseen currents running underneath so to speak.....hmmmm an odd haunted place indeed

Sounds too me like, you've experienced some of what the locals are into down their.

Witchcraft opens doors too the demonic realm, anyone wanting a ghost/demon hunt, then waihi would be the place, the whole town or area is marked as territory for demon's!

I really don't know how those people sleep at night! The occult is mostly run by the men, "who knows what the women are doing" (nitting prehap's) hmmmm!
