I would be really keen to do this. I dont have any equipment though :( I have my laptop but thats about it lol. I mainly work with ITC/EVP stuff and my laptop is enough for that. I have never had much luck with cameras etc. Any equipment I have used in the past like cameras etc hasn't been mine, so I couldn't use them afraid. I do have a digital camera but that is it. I have my cell phone for audio recordings, I have been thinking about getting another voice recorder but haven't decided yet- my cell is good enough. The cemetery would be fantastic, it is huge and I know I am bound to get a bunch of recordings there! Would you be carrying out these investigations during the day or at night?

It would have to be during the night, I'm tied up during the day. Equipment wise, I only have my digital camera & electronic voice recorder - Franklee & Supernerd have some bits & peices that are a bit more techy. But ghost hunting doesn't have to soley rely on equipment!

Cool, well the 17th is in my diary for Waikumete :)

Im up for it Barremel. Ive been away from the net for a bit with a buggered laptop but Im back and definately keen, also on Whatipu. I will chat to Colt when I get a chance and see if he can get some time to go there as well. The wife and I need a break away from auckland anyway!

Hi Franklee, I have no internet at home so I feel your pain! I'll liaise with you closer to the time re the cemetery & maybe we can think of dates in November/December for Whatipu? A long weekend might be nice :)

Not 100% sure if i can make it on the 17th I can let you know closer to the time. Are you going to let the local police station/security know? I believe the place has security too but not so sure about this. I read previously that someone had approached the managment of the cemetary asking about carrying out an investigation and they said no- but perhaps this was at night? I cant imagine anyone stopping you from recording and filming during the day? Its a huge cemetery which seems a little daunting at night time, there will be even less light because it is a new moon on the 18th. Are you familiar with the grounds, do you know of any particular areas worth focusing on? I have no clue but perhaps the older areas? It might be good to have particular areas in mind in advance to save any unneeded wandering and stumbling around in the dark.

Oh and I also have the video on my cell too- forgot about that. I have been known to have my psychicmedium moments but I wouldn't count on it :P

I'm not sure we should be discussing this here (we have been told twice that the council won't allow it). As it is a public place anyone could read this and meet us there (whether it be to ask us to leave or to contaminate the area with fake orbs, shadows, sounds ect.). I really think we whould change the date and keep details like date, time and specific places off the publicv forum. That way we have less chance of being met by security, or the local thugs and possibly have the integrity of our investigation threatened.

Briah, I know the area pretty well and agree that it would be a good idea if we get there with some daylight left as the old areas have lots of hazards (OMG now I sound like a Health and Safety Officer!!!!!!!!!)

Oh and yea I'm definately keen for Whatipu!

I have said before that if a group gets together to have an investigation, then post the details, and the list of members interested. At that point the coordinator of the group should pm the location, the meeting point and the date and time. (It is most important that the admins know what is going on.)
Remember no one under 18 should be involved unless they have written parental consent.
Trespass laws are there to protect all of us. NZGOH does not in any way approve of laws being broken. Permission should always be sought and approved.
If for any reason you choose to bypass the permission NZGOH will in no way be held responsible.

Absolutely agree. I'd like to state for the record that under no circumstances are the views, opinions and comments written here by myself in anyway to be connected with, or to be confused with the views/opinions of NZGOH. :)

Apologies if I didn't follow procedure with this - I was just going off the Henderson investigation where everything was posted. I really just want to get something organised :) So, as Kiwilady points out re the publication of the date & location in this instance I shall PM Franklee & Kiwilady with an alternative date &/or location. Once one of us is appointed coordinator we will post a request for interest and PM a new date & location. How does that sound?

Having read that the council has disapproved of any investigation taking place there previously on more than one occasion I can not be part of it.

They didn't say they disapproved they just said they wouldn't give us permission    I think that they think we are a group of looneys who were going to sit on new graves and tape greiving families or approach mourners or something like that. They suggested that we go somewhere else (preferably an old disused cemetary where no-one would be upset by us!!!!!! ) Maybe they watched Ghostbusters and are expecting uniforms and signpainted vans and trucks packed with noisy and obtrusive equipment!!

Did they mention where we can find these disused cemeteries? Tho 'disused' probably isn;t the right word hahahaha!!! What, did all the bodies just get up and walk off??!! ;)

In fact - I know where there's a derelict cemetary in Whangarei - the council is going to spend heaps of money on it & get it back into proper shape. Here's a poster about it. Looks like they may already have started fixing it up. http://www.wdc.govt.nz/resources/12664/ ... metery.pdf

Anyone know of other secret neglected cemetaries?

Personally I think it would be best to stick to smaller cemeteries that are in more private or out of the way locations. There are quite a few...... I think the activity in Waikumete Cemetery would be great but I just dont have a good feeling about it. I suggest ones that are not in such central locations and ones that aren't so large. I dont think any investigation is welcome at Waikumete.

I am paranormaled out for this year and I am taking a break so no more cemeteries for me. Anyway whatever you decide to do have fun guys.

With all respect I think that cemeteries to me reek of thrill seeking, the best activity is not even in a cemetery. Spirits are everywhere.

I am just sure if there is an investigation held there at night you will get attention both by those in spirit and the those in the police.... so please do use caution and respect.

I agree that spirits are everywhere but want to investigate Waikumete as it is known to be haunted.

At the moment we have 4 people:

Me (Kiwilady)
Franklee
Colt (I think)
Baramell

If anyone else is interested please PM me and I will include you in the planning and details. We hope to get together the night before the investigation to discuss time, places, numbers ect.

We don't mind if any other members want to come along even if it is just to see what we are doing. It does not matter if you don't have equipment ect as there is usually spare equipment not being used. If you want to come along and meet us before the investigation please let me know and I will PM you with details of our get-together.

Whoooo - Hoooooo can't wait!!

Yes it's me,as you have not been imformed as yet,we have forclosed on any more investigations with henderson.
We do have others in the pipeline, carrington will be included as there is alot still going on,the reason for things taking so long is research into these places before we let it out to you.
And we also know that soma people still have an unliking to what we do out there,as this is a kind of hobby for us.
we will try to post investigations as they come to us.
im greatfull to those who have put in there energy and time to make this happen,in saying that we do have to be carefull out there as well.

from Harley (COLT)

Hi Harley. Hope all is well with you.

Count me in on the Carrington investigation please and let me know if there is anything I can do to help with the research. I live just down the road from it (like walking distance).

OK, we went to Waikumete Cemetary and came back in one piece.

We were discreet and respectful and managed to not involve security or the local police!!!! (Actually apart from some kids trail biking around the roads we didn't see anyone).

Unfortunately it was very windy so we couldn't do much evp recording but did manage to get alot of pics. One of mine has something interesting in it and I will post it as soon as I work out how to get it on line!! I have a new photo programme and can't work out how to move photos out of it :x

Because of the hugeness (is that a word) Barramel and I have decided to go back and do another area another time. We ran out of time to do everything we wanted and only actually did one area of the cemetary.
