Heres the pic in question. I've also put a pic of the same tree without anything odd in it so you can compare the photos. I have other photos of the area and it is only in that one shot.

The photos seem a little big Kiwilady.......... I dont notice anything- they seem a little out of focus, what is it you noticed about the photos exactly?

I will look thru my pics tonight & hopefully I'll have internet on at home too by then & can upload any of interest. It was a shame about the noise levels but we'll look at going another time when we'll also have more time.

I'm not sure about the pic above either - there's what looks like mist up in the top of a tree but it could be the colour of the leaves.

The only thing we noticed that was interesting, and 2 of us saw it, was what looked like heat waves shimmering over a particular spot. It was quite odd, especially because it was not hot enough to generate heat waves, there was quite a bit of wind, it was only in a very specific place and there was no appropriate surface which would have generated the heat. (we investigated this & ruled out any of the grave stones etc). We saw it twice and it disappeared after a little while.

I'd like to thank Kiwilady for coming to Waikumete, I'm just a novice & her experience, knowledge & down to earth nature (& sense of humor!) made it a real learning pleasure!

Yeah that is a shame you weren't able to do capture any EVP. I have a hard enough time recording inside as it is I rarely bother to record outside much. There are just so many random noises that are picked up that get recorded. I get a lot of loud pops and clicks and other miscellaneous noises that aren't heard at the time of recording! These types of noises are commonly heard during EVP... I have noticed that I dont get a lot of EVP on windy days?!?

I had planned on doing some recordings alone at a family members grave site but I am not sure if I will go ahead and do this because it would be quite a trip and the likely hood of wind and other interference is highly likely. Perhaps when the weather clears up a bit in Summer.

I would have thought that perhaps you would get better EVP at the more recent grave sites....?

Good photographs, lots of atmosphere but I don't see anything out of the ordinary. It is certainly a cemetery with character.

Sorry about the size of the pics folks. Resizing was not an option in the programme!

The second photo is the one with something strange. The tree looks to have a pink line going from a branch to the ground. The first photo is actually the comparism pic. As you can see there isn't a line in that one and its the same tree.

GG it is an amazing cemetary with lots of different areas. The pics we took were of the old area although we also went through the mass graves for the influenza victims.

KL there is also a plot that was set aside for murderers. Now some shots of that area might be interesting.

The pink line is a piece of spear grass. You can see it growing.

Yeah I saw that, but I reckon it's a piece of grass too. The first shot is from a different angle & the grass will be just out of shot on the left. Hopefully I've got a pic of that same spot from a different angle that shows the grass. STILL haven't had a chance to look at them tho!!! & probably won't now til next teusday at the earliest :}

Next time you go try recording EVP anyway and see what happens? Sometimes other noises can help carry and amplify the voices and the background noise and interference can be filtered out afterwards.

OK, finally reviewed my pics and came up with these 2. At first I thought rain drop but when I saw the anomaly in the next frame & where it had moved, I knew it wasn't rain. I'm not sure what to make of it so feedback would be good :)

Ummm... I think it's a raindrop. The 'orb' hadn't moved, but your picture had. There's a slightly different angle in each one. Don't hit me for this... please... please... *whimpers* ;)

Hard to know really, I am not sure if the angle is different... was the 2nd picture cropped at all?

No, the pic wasn't cropped. Wow!!! Well this might be an even more amazing discovery!!! A stationery rain drop!!!! The time lapse between each shot was quite a few seconds!! I may have stepped sideways as I had to change the picture setting as the first pic was too dark. I wonder if it's still there? Someone might have walked into it. Actually, come to think of it, how many times have you noticed a drop of water appear on you with no apparrent source?

Thats why its a problem to do an investigation if it rains. Anything you cap in a pic could be explained as a raindrop! You might have got something there but there will always be that doubt. :(

It doesn't matter that it only rained for a few minutes, unless you can be certain that it was not raining when that pic was taken there is always the chance that anomoly is a raindrop (or two).

Lets just hope that the next time the weather is nice!
