When the Henderson Police station investigation (2) is concluded Im considering going to both of these sites for lengthy investigations.

I thought a large enough group of us would be quite safe in the cemetary at night as its open to the public most nights...or we Aucklanders could meet for lunch or afternoon tea at the Glen Eden Railway station cafe (very haunted place) where bodies used to be held during the Influenza strike of the early 1900s.
Strangely enough there was little activity there until the cafe was moved across the road, away from its original site....since that time, a lone packer is spotted occasionally waiting for the luggage carriage and friends of mine have commented on sudden sensations of crowding and motion on the new platform when its late at night and they happen to be alone.

On NZ Ghost Hunt, Caroline was shocked to discover a man caught moving past a window beside her when they filmed on site...checking from any other angle showed she was alone on the platform but one camera clearly showed a man passing her and coming into view through a window....I would love to get permission to do a vigil there... So let me know here if you are keen and if we get the numbers, I will organise a table and booking or make sure the equipment is ready and charged for the cemetary!

That sounds like a good idea, should be a good place to investigate. Sometimes I wish I lived up north..... :)

Hi Franklee, I remember that episode of Ghost Hunt too, it was pretty cool! Because of that, & a story a friend told me, it was on my list of places to visit so I would definately be up for being involved!

*waves hand frantically*
Me interested. The Cafe is in a rough area, may need protection by being in a big group.

If you decide on the Waikumete Cemetery instead, I'm also interested. And on the day in question I can inform the Comms centre about us, so that when members of public report to Police about seeing torches, and people doing funny antics among the graves, Comms will know it's us. They will soothe these panicky people. :D

Ditto for the Cafe, in case of problems.

Ok! So this sounds like it may eventuate. I will do some research about background of both venues and also check which areas have reputations. I know the influenza district at Waikumete is very active but requires a modicum of respect as well, so its going to require some good behaviour on our part...which Im sure is no issue for any of us. I also happen to know the owners of the cafe, so I will ask for an inside vigil as well. Who knows eh....will update as and when I know more.

Hey Franklee, I'm keen as well. Just don't tell the cemetary what we are doing :) Hopefully we get a big enough group as its not the safest place to be at night. (If need be I can drag my hubbie along for numbers but he isn't really that keen.)

Hey guys, sorry I have only posted here a couple of times but frequently visit the forum to see whats going on. This investigation sounds like an awesome idea, I have been to both the cemetery and cafe for a look around and I think it would be a cool place to investigate in a group. My Girlfriend will most likely be interested coming as well.

Ok Im off to the cafe tonight for a bit of light surveillance. Im going to see who comes and gos and what the local yobbos do...whether its a hang out or not. I have rung the owners and they are not keen on leaving anyone to run about inside the cafe at night however I am having better luck with Waikumete custodian and local Sextant...so I may have something for everyone within the next two or three days. We will aim to get it together within a fortnight if possible.

*ears prick up* Ooooh!

If it goes ahead, let us know what we need to bring in the shape of supplies, sanity and caffeine intravenous drips. ;)

summarises my current experience with custodial types! It was all cool and groovy until someone mentioned (to the person I was liaising with) that it was not a good look for local bodies (scuse pun) or council, if groups of "weirdos" armed with camcorders roamed about the cemetary during burials...which is a gross misunderstanding and overstatement...not to mention completely inaccurate but thats the position of the Cemetary now...Thanks but no thanks. Im stumped for ideas.

My family recently experienced something sinister in Maungaweka (way down the line from aucks) but thats a bit far to travel...Im wondering if anyone has a private residence that would serve for training purposes?

Barremel...I got your text but had no credit! haha and I was out with dad...so no go...but I really hope we can get up to the place in Whangarei sometime as it sounded great.

Hhhummmmpppppfffff

I am I allowed to suggest that we do it anyway (discreetly of course)?

If anyone challenges us we just plead ignorance or run (whichever seems like the best option in that moment) :D

I'm with you! If people from the council want to be unreasonable, especially after seeking permission in a responsible manner, then I have no qualms going behind their backs. Grrrrr! :x

Let's pick a date :)

What about Whatipu? A group of us could hire out the lodges for a weekend? Be an awesome place for training - we would basically be left to our own devices. no need to advertise in advance to the proprietors our real reason for visiting, we could just be a group of friends taking a weekend break, who also happen to be very interested in the paranormal :) From my online browsing it sounds like the owners are quite relaxed about the Lodges' paranormal history, they may even be accommodating to our interests while we're there.

Here's a neat article: http://www.travelintelligence.com/trave ... ast-ghosts

And info about the lodge itself: http://www.arc.govt.nz/albany/main/park ... n/whatipu/

What do you think Franklee?
